Sadly, one of the greatest musicians past out last Sunday. Ronald James Padavona, also known as “Ronnie James Dio” played a major part in Metal history. In september 2009, Ronald was diagnosed with cancer.
He played in great bands like Black Sabbath (1979–1983, 1991–1992), before he started his soloproject “DIO”. Afterwards, he was Vocalist for “Heaven & Hell”, Black Sabbath with the old line-up. Ronald was also known for making the Devil Horns popular on metal gigs.
Personally, I think it’s a great loss for the metal community. Ronald was a wise man, those who knew him also witnessed his warm character.
“There will be a Public Memorial Service for Ronnie James Dio on Sunday, May 30th at 2:00 PM at The Hall Of Liberty located at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068.
This will be a celebration of the life and music of Ronnie James Dio and is open to all of his friends and fans from around the world.
