They were not able to open for Slipknot last December, but never mind because Machine Head will be here, this time topping the bill, at the Rockhal on 4 June next! Their appearance will certainly make some noise!

Forget the disappointment of not seeing them play alongside Slipknot last December. Today Machine Head has announced it will be in Luxembourg on 4 June next for a unique date in the region. Nothing less could have been expected of Robb Flynn’s band for whom disappointing their fans was never on the agenda!

After a long career of more than 15 years already, these days the group is at the top of its form and stronger than ever, regenerated by the success of its two latest albums: “Through the Ashes of Empires” (2003) and above all “The Blackening” (2007), considered by the specialist press as the “album of the year” and the American group’s best work.

A real steamroller, Machine Head is also one of the best live groups ever to perform, a group which has never made the slightest compromise and which always gets back up from the blows inflicted by life. An example of tenacity, desire and passion!

Machine Head: just heavy metal!

With its first two albums, Korn kick-started a genre which inexorably had become self-centred. With the albums which followed, it established itself as the uncontested leader of a modern, fresh and devastating metal style. The group is to be seen or indeed seen again on 16 June next at the Rockhal!

It was in 1994 that the public discovered Korn. A first deafening album disturbed as much as it fascinated. Jonathan Davis, the intriguing front-man, openly spoke then of all the demons that possessed and tormented him. Davis’s sombre lyrics, associated with the music, an explosive mix of hardcore, grunge and metal, gave the group an extremely strong image with which many young people identified.

Two years later, Korn was at it again with “Life is Peachy”, establishing its position as leader of this new genre which the press went on to call “neo-metal”. “Follow the Leader”, released in 1998 and “Issues”, a year later, hallowed Korn as the best metal group of the decade.

The passage to the new millennium saw the US group at the top of its form, and tours as well as individual gigs followed at a hectic pace. “Untouchables” (2002), “Take a Look in the Mirror” (2003) and “See You on the Other Side” (2005) were all fine successes and it was with great pomp that the group came to the Rockhal on 24 September 2005 for a blazing performance in front of almost 5,000 fans.

Although the eponymous album released in 2007 saw the group soften its formula somewhat, live the fireworks still flew: Korn had become master of the devastating live formula.

On 16 June next, the group returns to the scene of the crime for a new and explosive concert, and also to prove that it remains uncontested master of “new metal”!

Take a cult group which has sold more than 10 million albums around the world, and whose aura still hovers above the heads of many current performers. Add a group which makes touring a way of life and whose power when performing live is always impressive. Finally combine all this with one of the spearheads of the current metal-core scene and stir them well. You will obtain an explosive bill, presenting the legendary Anthrax, the heretical Devildriver and the extremely nervy God Forbid!

Respected throughout the world and still considered one of the most influential metal groups, Anthrax is returning to the spotlights and in the spring will be releasing an eagerly awaited new album, which is said to contain the most violent numbers the group has ever composed. A return by force for this mythical group which risks sending young groups back to their drawing boards …

Led by the extremely charismatic Dez Fafara, Devildriver has forged itself a place in the court of the greats by dint of repeated and never-ending tours. You have to ask how they found time to record their fourth album which will be released in the spring. A veritable war machine live, Devildriver drew an audience of more than 600 when they appeared at the Rockhal last year.

God Forbid come from New Jersey and became really well known following their tour alongside Slipknot, Chimaira and Fear Factory in 2004. “Earthsblood”, their latest album, has just been released to showers of critical acclaim, and the group is now embarking on a marathon tour across the United States. They will relax this summer by joining Anthrax and Devildriver for a tour which will surely be the talk of everyone!

As a worthy representative of their self-created style, Nine Inch Nails have become a veritable institution and without a doubt they are one of the most influential rock bands of the last two decades. On 09 July next the band is to play in Luxembourg for the very first time, at the Rockhal’s Main Hall. Expect an extraordinary event!

Nine Inch Nails were founded in 1987 and this band was, and will always stay the creation and work of one single man: Trent Reznor.

During about ten years, Reznor made his creature follow the rhythm of his own life. In the beginning there was the cold and martial electro sound of “Pretty Hate Machine”, the first album released in 1989, followed by raging guitars on “Broken” (1992). Public acknowledgment came with “The Downward Spiral” in 1994. The calm atmosphere of the 1999 double album “The Fragile” finally raised Nine Inch Nails to the status of an absolute reference in industrial rock.
In 2002, Reznor released “And all that could have been”, a live album which is a demonstration of the unbelievable power given off by Nine Inch Nails on stage.

Nine Inch Nails’ great comeback album “With Teeth” (released in 2005) earned them another no 1 position in the U.S. charts and two years later, the louder and more conceptual “Year Zero” came out.
In 2008, after having left their label, Nine Inch Nails published “Ghosts I-IV”, an instrumental album with 36 pieces that are only available online. Just a few months later the new record, “The Slip”, was issued for free via the band’s official web site. In July 2008 a CD version of the same album was released.

After having begun a U.S. tour in spring, the band is to play some concerts in Europe during the summer (including several big festivals). Nevertheless, this legendary band is going to hit the stage at the Rockhal’s Main Hall on 09 July next.
Do not miss them because rumor has it that this one could very well be Nine Inch Nails’ last tour!

Even if the Cavalera’s brothers are gone, Brasilian band Sepultura succeded to keep the spirit that made « Roots » one of the best metal album of all time.  « A-lex », their new album, has just been released and the band will be at Rockhal on july 14 with a very special guest called The Dillinger Escape Plan !

It was a real challenge for Sepultura to keep the flame alive after the departure of both Cavalera’s brothers.  But they succeeded and now they are looking for a new bright future, releasing strong albums again (especially the last two ones) and playing impressive and powerful shows.

Three years ago, « Dante XXI » set the record straight and proved that the « new » Sepultura still had a lot of things to say.  With the sacred fire back inside their hearts, Andreas Kisser (guitars), Paulo Jr. (bass), Derek Green (voice) and new drummer Jean Dolabella put all their passion and enthusiam in the production of « A-lex », probably their best album so far.

On july 14, and for one night only, the band will be hitting the stage with The Dillinger Escape Plan ; one of the most inovative and modern metal bands of the 2000’s.  Furthermore, their live reputation will probably blow you away.

A double bill you will never forget !

Devil Driver drew attention to themselves for the first time with songs such as Cry For Me Sky, I Could Care Less or Sin & Sacrifice.

In 2008, the band delivers another album to the modern trash metal scene, which is able to convince, just like the 2 albums before. We were able to interview Dez Fafara and had prepared quite a lot of interesting questions.
