Apocalyptica - Perttu Kivilaakso

Starting as a coverband in the 90s, they are today one of the most successful  "non-metal"  bands in the world.
 
This finish band composed of classically trained cellists is rocking since 1993 on the biggest stages and they have even played at the legendary Wacken Open Air Festival in 2005. We talked to Pertuu Kivilaakso on 5th march 2008, when they were playing a nearly sold-out live at The Atelier in the centre of Luxembourg!

 

Cavalera Conspiracy - Igor Cavalera

Cavalera Conspiracy was founded by Igor Cavalera and Max Cavalera, 12 years after Max left Sepultura in 1996.
 
Max took a little break from his current band Soulfly in 2007 and recorded the album Inflikted together with his brother. In order to promote their first release, the Brazilian band even stopped by to perform in Esch.This was a good opportunity for us to ask them several questions.

Children Of Bodom - Henkka Seppälä

Founded in 1993 under the name Inearth, nowadays known as Children Of Bodom.
 
The 5 musicians from Espoo in Finland have toured with Slipknot and Machine Head and played at the Rockhal. Their live show included well-known songs like Bloodlust, Hate Crew Deathroll or In Your Face in front of 6000 metal fans. We had the honour to chat with bass player Henkka "T.Blacksmith" Seppälä
 
 

Devil Driver - Dez Fafara

Devil Driver drew attention to themselves for the first time with songs such as Cry For Me Sky, I Could Care Less or Sin & Sacrifice.
 
In 2008, the band delivers another album to the modern trash metal scene, which is able to convince, just like the 2 albums before. We were able to interview Dez Fafara and had prepared quite a lot of interesting questions.

Everyone who wants to know more about the winners from the Wacken Open Air Metal Battle 2006 should check this out.
 
Drone is a very promising band and songs like Chainsaw Symphony or Welcome To The Pit mirror their powerful sound. A couple of weeks ago they played on the occasion of the release of their Abstract Rapture CD at the Rockhal. This was a chance for us to learn about their music and their upcoming release.
 
 

Hatesphere - Hatesphere

After 15 years of band history, Hatesphere have finally found their way back to Luxembourg.

Together with Scarred, Miles To Perdition, Ex Infers, Shade By Fate and Psyke Project, the Danish band has performed a great show in front of around 300 people.  Before the live, we have talked to Hatesphere’s Pepe about the band’s future and the upcoming new release.

Ill Nino - Chris & Ahrue

At the end of the 90s, they started as a band of the nu-metal scene, but today they have clearly distanced themselves from this music style and form a unique band.
 
We have met Ill Niño during their stay in Luxembourg, where they have performed a powerful show together with 3 other bands on 5th April 2008 at the Rockhal in Esch/Alzette. On that occasion, vocalist Christian and guitarist Ahrue have talked about their thoughts and plans.

Saxon - Biff Byford

The N.W.O.B.H.M. band Saxon played their first gig after 33 years and the release of 19 CD´s in Luxembourg.

The band put on a great sold out rock show at the Atelier together with Iced Earth on the Battalions of Steel World Tour. Vocalist Biff Byford talked about the future and the new album Into The Labyrinth.
